Stuck on You, 2008

Second in a series, Stuck on You employed poetic language and evocative text fragments to disperse a sea of poetry into a crowd of festivalgoers attending the Glendale, AZ Jazz and Blues Festival. During the two day music festival, Stuck on You connected approximately 13,000 participants to each other and to the site through chance encounters and linguistic associations to spark a collective contemplation on love. A team of “Love Agents” and Sale offered Stuck on You stickers to festival-goers as they traveled about the festival grounds. Just over 14,600 stickers were distributed. A sticker might say Sincerely, I am. Breathing. You. or I could jump into you, or and land without consequences. These stickers were stuck on shirts, bags, hats, and bodies – stimulating festival-goers to engage in playful, real-time interactions. Additionally, signs bearing different texts were mounted on lampposts around the festival grounds.

The project is multi-authored with assistance from a loose collective of poets and Spork Press in Tucson, AZ.
